Taking the body through all planes of movement and working across different muscle groups, all classes, whether on the mat or the Reformer, are designed to offer a balanced full body workout that effectively combines mobility with stability, whilst promoting a deeper connection between mind and body.
MATWORK CLASSES
50 minutes, maximum 5 participants
Matwork 1
Focused on the foundations of Pilates Matwork, this is a class aimed at beginners and anyone with movement challenges. It also offers an opportunity for more experienced clients to revisit the fundamental principles of Pilates, paying close attention to alignment and precision of movment.
Matwork 2
A dynamic class drawing on the classical Pilates repertoire combined with modern variations. We will work on building greater strength and stamina whilst still paying due attention to proper alignment and technique.
Small equipment such as the small ball, gym ball and resistance bands may be incorporated.
REFORMER CLASSES
50 minutes, maximum 3 participants
Reformer 1
An entry level class aimed at those new to the Reformer or anyone who prefers to work at a slower pace to refine their technique. With an emphasis on precision and alignment, clients will develop greater awareness of movement and connection to the body whilst benefitting from a highly effective full body workout.
Reformer 2
Building on the foundations laid in Reformer 1, this class introduces more advanced choreography as clients continue to evolve their practice. Stamina is challenged with faster transitions between exercises. Clients will also be encouraged to learn the appropriate springs for given exercises developing understanding and awareness within their own bodies and allowing for greater personal control as they progress.
Clients should have attended Reformer 1 before progressing to Reformer 2 unless otherwise discussed and agreed with Rebecca.
PERSONAL TUITION
50 minutes, single or duet
Whether focusing on the mat or the Reformer—or moving between the disciplines—and incorporating additional apparatus as appropriate, these sessions are an opportunity for clients to move at their own pace with especial attention paid to any areas of concern or specific goals.
Personal tuition can be especially beneficial for clients new to Pilates or with particular movement challenges. It also affords the more experienced student a supportive space in which to explore their individual practice, developing a deeply collaborative relationship between teacher and client.
A number of private appointments are available to book through the timetable. However, if you can’t find a slot that works for you, please contact Rebecca directly as it may be possible to arrange a more suitable time.
Private sessions for two people can be arranged on request.
Initial Assessment
50 minutes
A discounted private session for new clients, which provides the opportunity to go through your client enrolment form, discuss any relevant history, and establish meaningful and achievable goals to work towards. We will begin with some of the foundational exercises and also introduce you to the Reformer should you wish, preparing you with the basic knowledge to move forward into group classes with confidence, or establish whether private tuition – or a combination of both – may be more beneficial for you.
